James Halliday 94/100.'fragrant citrus blossom and herb aromas lead into a focussed and intense palate, with lime and lemon fruit fused with the acidity. Lovely wine Cellar > 2015.

Barwite Vineyards was established by David Ritchie and a group of fellow grape and wine enthusiasts in the late 1990’s on a slope facing the mouth of the Broken River and Mt Stirling in the Victorian High Country. Originally, as is very common in Australian viticulture, the intention was to sell the grapes but since 2003 the best parcels of fruit have been kept back for the Barwite label. The area has a very good reputation for producing some of the best aromatic wines in Australia ... no wonder then that the first and most successful of the Barwite range is their Riesling, often looked at as the king of the aromatic varieties. Since it’s maiden vintage the Barwite Riesling has been winning praise around the country, this 2008 being awarded 94 points from James Halliday.

Displays considerable floral aromas before a ripe palate with lemon and lime flavours and a nicely balanced acidity. Great with a smoked salmon and asparagus frittata from now until 2020
