In traditional Rhome blends, a splash of white grapes is often found win with the reds. Interestingly if picked, fermented and matured together the whites can deepen the colour extrction and add complexity and perfume. The grapes made for this wine were grown side-by-side, harvested and fermented together then aged for 1 year in old and new French oak. This makes for a flavoursome, elegant style - not a blockbuster, enjoy with slow cooked lamb shanks , roasts and red wine based pasta dishes.

I make wines to enjoy with food. Elegant sparkling wines, crisp, flavoursome whites and stylish, soft finishing reds. I’ve made my speciality the Rhone varietals—shiraz, roussanne and viognier. These have found a second home in and around Tabilk, in central Victoria, having been grown here amongst the tall river red gums for well over 100 years. At the vineyard, we ‘tread as lightly as we can’. We make our own compost to improve soil structure and work with the vines’ natural growth habits to create canopies for shade and air flow, to avoid the use of sprays and chemicals
