Our last function on 4th November featured GEOFF MERRILL WINES, with GEOFF MERRILL as our Guest Speaker. This lunch wwas a great success, with hilarious stories - great food and across the board - excellent wines. the outstanding offerings were undoubtably the reserve Chardonnay and the 2002 Henley Reserve Shiraz (rated 96/100 by Halliday). Our next lunch will be after vintage in 2012, so watch this space!!!

Tim Gramp Watervale Riesling 2010

McPherson's Shiraz 2010

Minimum order 1 dozen. Deep purple in colour, with an intense aroma of dark fruits and spice, the 2010 McPherson Shiraz expresses true varietal character. With subtly integrated American Oak balanced with ripe plums and blackberries, this wine has excellent structure and length. Secondary aromas of chocolate and spice add intrigue and complexity to the wine with soft tannins creating a supple and smooth wine with impressive length.

McPherson's Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2010

Minimum order 1 dozen. This wine is a dense inky-purple colour with an enticing nose displaying aromas of ripe blackberries and cassis with a slight hint of capsicum. The palate is elegantly structured with fruit intensity, integrated spicy oak and above all, finesse.

McPherson's Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Minimum order 1 dozen. This delightful unoaked wine displays intense aromas of passionfruit, gooseberries and fresh pineapple with only a slight hint of herbaceous characters such as capsicum and tomato bush leaves. These characters follow through onto the palate and the fresh, crisp acid provides a lingering, refreshing finish. An enjoyable Summer wine that is best served chilled.

McPherson's Basilisk Shiraz Mouvedre 2010

HOT OFF THE PRESS...GOLD MEDAL MELBOURNE....Our Rhone inspired 2010 VINTAGE has just added another GOLD MEDAL in Melbourne to GOLD in Adelaide and SILVER in London at the IWSC to its recent GOLD at the Perth Royal Wine Show. This blend of cool climate spicy Shiraz tempered with the fine tannins of Mourvedre has gained international acclaim. Rated 4.5 stars by James Halliday Wine Companion this year, Rich, with elegant and supple tannins, this Rhone inspired wine is an enigmatic blend of cool-climate spicy Shiraz combined with mild climate full-bodied Shiraz, finely tempered by the savoury tannins of Mourvedre. This delicious, exciting and harmonious wine exhibits aromas and flavours of blackberry, pepper and spice combined with the elegant integration of French oak. Rich dark berry fruit flavours are abundant on the palate with underlying savoury notes such as leather and spice. Finishing with excellent length, this wine is magnificent now however will undoubtedly reward those who offer it time.
