Waterwheel Bendigo Shiraz 2008
The 2008 Shiraz is vivid ruby / red in colour. On the nose there is berry fruit with hints of spice and aniseed.
The palate exudes ripe strawberry fruit characters with spice and white pepper present.
The wine is well balanced with fine, lingering, chalky tannins on the finish.
Ready to drink now and will continue to improve in the medium term.
Ideal with most red meat dishes including lamb shanks.

Hellyer's Road Original Whisky
From Tassie, a pleasant and well-balanced complex of aromas of vanilla, citrus and floral elements. The citrus notes are a direct relation to the American white oak timber used for maturing single malts of Hellyers Road "Original" recipe, and the soft vanilla relates to the previously housed bourbon in these barrels. At 46.2% ABV the flavours in the mouth are enhanced because our single malts do not require chill-filtration and this gives a well balanced and smooth drink. A hint of toastiness is evident in the back of the palate and this is from the barrels being char-fired prior to use.

Escarpment 'The Edge' Pinot Noir 2008
Overlooking the vineyard are the Aorangi Ranges, the very hills made famous by Kupe the great Polynesian voyager who discovered New Zealand, according to Maori legend. Kupe left his three canoes, Nga Waka, on top of the range, giving rise to the now familiar landmark of the district, the three flat-topped hills on top of the range, which resemble unturned canoes

Dog Point Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc 2007
AGW Tastings P142 'I'm keen on this wine but buyers beware it is not your average Marlborough SB! Barrel fermentation, extensive lees contact and malolactic fermentation have transformed it into a tight, minerally wine retaining plenty of sauvignon blanc character (green capsicum, lemongras) but with a strong yeasty undercurrent and very subtle oak. The result is a wine with plenty of class and a nod in the direction of pouilly fume. BC'

Heathcote Winery 'Mail Coach' Shiraz 2007
AGW P142 tastings'...well-grown shiraz from this region reveals a penetrative and slightly sour-edged attack on the palate, with musky, meaty and cracked pepper-like complexity. Here is a piercing young shiraz whose core of blackberry, blueberry and dark plum flavours are tightly wound around a spine of fine grainy tannins. It's heady, aromatic, savoury and finely balanced.JO'

Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
A deep ruby colour with bright red hues; showing a deeply concentrated brooding nose of cassis liqueur, black currents, mulberries, menthol and dark chocolate. The nose is a reflection of the ripeness and generous fruit depth coming from the 2006 vintage. The wine is well balanced with soft supple tannins, sweet fruit and elegant acid structure. The refined palate offers a full bodied rich wine yet well harnessed and controlled by fine chalky tannin structure and raspberry conserve like acid. An opulent and varietal Cabernet that was made possible by near perfect vintage conditions, strategic vineyard selection and blending. This wine is best consumed within 6-8 years from bottling.

Sticks Chardonnay 2006
rilliant light straw with vibrant green hues. A very attractive wine offering a panoply of caramel and crisp orchardy aromatics and flavours. Bouquets of stonefruits, nectarine and peach, orchard-fresh aromas of crisp apple and grapefruit are complimented by toastyness stemming from the judicious oak treatment. Creamy and smooth to the palate, toasty butterscotch, mealy with bran, more orchard fruits, lanolin and pear. Clean and dry finish of tropical fruit, lingering flavours, a crisp zesty finish, and very affable to good food

Toohey's Old Black Ale 330ml x 24
Tooheys have been brewing this grand old black ale since 1869 and as such they have had time to perfect this robust beer. They started bottling the dark ale in 1970. Many believe this to be a dark ale in the style of British brewing, while Tooheys disagrees describing OLD as more like the German "Alt" beers
