Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2002
94/100 Halliday. James Halliday Review:
"Powerful but silky smooth; elegance and fruit freshness beyond the normal; black fruits running through the length of the palete; ripe tannins, restrained oak. Another testament to 2002"
Made from a blend of 53% Cabernet and 47% Shiraz the wine was matured for twelve months in 22% new one year old and older American oak hogsheads. Opaque crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose of spice violets blackcurrant and blackberry. The palate is generous and full bodied with fine dry tannin backbone. Flavours of ripe blackcurrant liquorice and spice over a vanillin oak background. Perfect balance with very long aftertaste. Cellar to 2015.

Hellyer's Road Original Whisky Gift Pack 3 x 250ml
From Tassie, a pleasant and well-balanced complex of aromas of vanilla, citrus and floral elements. The citrus notes are a direct relation to the American white oak timber used for maturing single malts of Hellyers Road "Original" recipe, and the soft vanilla relates to the previously housed bourbon in these barrels. At 46.2% ABV the flavours in the mouth are enhanced because our single malts do not require chill-filtration and this gives a well balanced and smooth drink. A hint of toastiness is evident in the back of the palate and this is from the barrels being char-fired prior to use.

Saltram Vintage Tawny Port 1959
Australian Financial Review: Top 20 Wines of 2009! Halliday 20100 98 points
To celebrate its 150th birthday, Saltram has released 1,959 bottles of this simply magnificent aged Australian fortified. From a single vintage that has, unusually, been aged in cask rather than bode, and made from what the current Saltram winemakers believe may be grenache, shiraz and possibly some muscadelle, a little of this goes a long way. Light tawny with a bright olive rim, there are aromas of rich mahogany and walnut, toffee and rancio that lead onto an incredibly intense palate that is sweet (at about 180 g/l) and textured; the whole counterbalanced by a staggeringly high 10.69 gll of acidii that is reminiscent of great Madeira.

Tahbilk 'Eric Stevens Purbrick' Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Gold Medal Winner (Drink Now to 2019/2024)
In an old vine tale amongst the many that emanate from our Estate plantings, the material for this 'Eric Stevens Purbrick' release was sourced predominately from a 1949 planting of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The nose and palate exhibit an intense mixture of blackberry and eucalyptus combined with black olive and clove overtones whilst fine grained, dusty tannins add further complexity.

Snowgrass Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Another excellent example of what Marlborough does so well, sweet fruit flavours blend well with crisp acidity.Great intensity of flavour.
Refreshing, vibrant... a real treat!
This wine is an all round crowd pleaser - guaranteed to delight!
We Say...
If you recall those amazing sweets that were (and still possibly are) Refreshers, then you've run into the wine equivalent of them! Effervescent flavours abound and that light spritz is super-scintillating. It's a treat alright and one which will re-light your fire after a hard day's work. This is premium juice that was picked up from lovely growers in Marlborough for what seemed a song. And, getting back to the childish comparison, one's chances of getting the entire thing in your mouth are about the same.

Redman Shiraz 2008
TWO TROPHIES! Best Shiraz and Best Dry Red - Cowra 2010. Outstanding value for money. Grown on thirty five year old, hand pruned vines from the Redman family vineyards in the heart of Coonawarra. Celebrating 100 years of family winemaking in 2008, this is a typical example of their soft structured French style wines. These always drink well with some bottle age.

Tahbilk 'Eric Stevens Purbrick' Shiraz 2004
Tahbilk is a bulwark of Victorian Shiraz, it's original plantings are some of Australia's earliest. Traditional viniculural techniques, as practised by Tahbilk's winemakers in the 1860s, are still utilized, and the original chais of the winery is to this day a most integral part of the operations. The Eric Stevens Purbrick wines honour present day winemaker, Alister's, grandfather, and represents the best of each vintage in Cabernet and shiraz.
